The Edmonton Rocks Wheelchair Curling Club will call the Jasper Place Curling Club home for the seventh season in a row, though the club has been in existence for much longer. Edmonton Rocks is a non-profit organization that promotes wheelchair curling, which can be played by any person who is physically unable to play the able-bodied game. If you can no longer curl the able-bodied way and would like to give wheelchair curling a try, we have two wheelchairs on-site.
We curl once a week, on Saturday mornings from 10:00-12:00 pm, the league will start on Saturday October 17, 2015. We hope that wheelchair curlers will come out Saturday mornings on a regular basis, but drop-in players are welcome too. Our league is inclusive of all wheelchair curlers: our competitive players, the absolute beginners, and curlers who require help from an able-bodied volunteer. Our goal is to have enough curlers to run a full wheelchair league.
Please check the calendar to confirm there is wheelchair curling. Unfortunately we cannot offer wheelchair curling every Saturday as there are other events that get booked into the curling club. Also, please check for the Edmonton Rocks special events; also listed in the calendar.
If you would like to try wheelchair curling or volunteer as a helper, please call Cathy at the curling club @ 780-489-6428 for more details.
